Streams in the Desert book

My friend Kim tagged me to do this...

1) Grab the book closest to you
2) Open to page 123, go down to the fourth sentence
3) Post the text of the following 3 sentences
4) Name the author and book title
5) Tag three people to do the same

So I sit here and grab the closest book...and it didn't even have that many pages...so the next one to it was Streams in the Desert by L.B. Cowman. Great book and when I read it, or My Utmost for His Highest it amazes me how on target it usually is with where I am in my life. Well the date of this page is March 21st, but still somehow God is speaking clearly through this book...

Let us remember that no earthly circumstances can hinder the fulfillment of God's Word. We must look steadfastly at His Immutable Word and not at the uncertainty of this everchanging world. God desires for us to believe His Word without other evidence, and then He is ready to do for us "according to (our) faith."

And now my heart and I are sweetly singing--singing without the sound of tuneful strings; Drinking abundant waters in the desert;Crushed, and yet soaring as on eagle's wings.

According to your faith will it be done to you. (Matthew 9:29)

I'm so thankful that in the midst of craziness, sadness, lonesomeness, and when everything seems total chaos in your life that all we have to do is pray for peace and have faith that He will not only supply that peace, but walk by my side and be with me through it. It isn't always easy to do what the bible says, but I have to remember to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God!

I'm so thankful for the godly friends that God has blessed me with who will lift me up in prayer in time of need and knows that they can expect the same from me. There is a fresh and new freedom that I have experienced as of late in sharing my heart straight up and being transparent. It just has knocked down the walls and barriers around my heart and I am slowly beginning to be able to have faith in God's perfect will whatever that may hold and mean for me and my family in the future!

I tag Michelle, Amy, and Misty

Wow time flies

I have not blogged in so long and there are many things going on in my life right now that have somewhat prohibited and kept me from even feeling like getting on here...although I check my dear friend's blog daily and a few others to keep up with their lives and thoughts. I know just enough about the computer to email, search on google for things, and help find info for kid's homework. I see some of these blogger's sites that have all the special effects, pictures, links, etc....and it makes me feel a little overwhelmed! I barely get my pics on let alone add others links. Maybe that can be one goal for myself this year is to learn how to have more bells and whistles on my blog. I'm sure I'll be calling my friend Kim for advice soon!

It seems like the holiday season was a blur now that I look back on it, but am thankful that we had great times with family. My sister Amy and her family flew down from Spokane, Washington for a week. Found out right before they came that Ford is moving them back within a year. It can get here fast enough! We ended up staying home for Christmas this year since Julia ended up having pneumonia. We had several all nighters with her coughing and hurting, but thankfully God healed her quickly with two different antibiotics and has been cleared of everything as of Monday. It was hard to not be able to go to Palestine to Grandma Jolly's house, but we did finally get there this last weekend and had an extra long Christmas celebration with them.

I look forward to great things for this year of 2007. I am still working at working out and eating often, but not too much. I fell and busted my tailbone on New Year's Day (funny story) so I haven't been able to walk normal much less go to the gym lately. I know I know I am working on getting in to see the doc and/or chiropractor so that I can figure out if I cracked it, or what. I am praying earnestly about going back to teaching also. That will be a huge thing for me, but it is time for me to step up and start helping save, pay off, and help Marv with financial duties. I have really enjoyed subbing this year...best of both worlds...flexibility while still being able to teach and be a mom to our kiddos. I know that teaching can be good with schedules, but please pray for me as I enter back into the real world. We will continue to have the 6th grade group of Hotspots over to our house on Wednesday nights for bible study and fellowship. We have seen Jeffrey grow and mature so much through this.

Speaking of Jeffrey...he made 1st chair in his trombone section at chair tryouts on Tuesday! He came home also with all A's and B's. We have an 85 in math and for all the late nights helping with homework that's a answer to prayer. He even made all A's and B's on his mid-term exams and that was without any help...so we know he is getting it for sure! Well there is a quick update and I will promise to get on here more often.
